Genetic factors of functional traits

چکیده
Selection of functional traits is a challenge for researchers, but an increasingly necessary objective due to the growing concern regarding animal welfare and overcoming problems reducing antibiotic use in rabbit production without undermining animals’ productivity. The aim this review discuss genetic control resistance diseases, longevity variability birth weight within litter, or litter size at doe, describing selection programmes first results from multi-omics analysis resistance/susceptibility diseases. heritability around 0.13 longevity, 0.01 uniformity weight, 0.09 0.11 disease resistance. Genetic correlations between are mostly no different zero, moderately favourable some cases. Six developed three countries reviewed. Line foundation with high pressure divergent experiments methodologies used, responses have been achieved. Genomics studies revealed associations regions related immune system functionality stress lines selected variability. Knowledge role gut microbiota rabbit’s response very limited. A approach can help determine microbial mechanisms regulation immunity genes host.

Non-Genetic Factors Affecting Grasscutter Production Traits. 1. Growth Traits
This study was conducted at the grasscutter section of the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, to estimate effects of non-genetic factors on growth traits. Data consisted of records of 502 kids born from 136 does and 40 sires from 2006 to 2010. Feed intake increased (P<0.01) with increasing parity and years, whilst feed efficiency declined (P<0.01) with years. Animals consumed less (P<0.01...
متن کاملEffects of Genetic and Non-genetic Factors on Body Weight and Carcass Related Traits in Two Strains of Japanese Quails
The current study was conducted to investigate the effects of genetic and non-genetic factors on body weight and carcass traits of Japanese quails. Two strains of Japanese quail (150 wild quails and 150 white quails) were used as base population. Four mating groups were used to produce progenies: wild male × wild female, white male × wild female, wild male × white female and white male × white ...
متن کاملFunctional evaluation of genetic variation in complex human traits.
Genome-wide association studies and, more recently, next-generation sequencing studies have accelerated the investigation of complex human traits by providing a wealth of association data linking genetic variants to diseases and other phenotypic traits. These data promise to transform our understanding of the molecular pathways underlying complex human traits, but only if functional evaluation ...
متن کاملEffects of Non-Genetic Factors and Permanent Maternal Environment on Biometric Traits in Moghani Sheep
The present study investigated basic statistics for biometric traits as well as non-genetic factors that may affect these traits in the Moghani breed of sheep. The data-set was computed by using biometric records of the Moghani sheep breeding and raising station over a period of 15 years (1996 to 2012). Year of birth, month of birth, birth type and lamb's sex and dam permanent environment were ...
